Calumet City, Illinois, May 18, 2026 — Global Water Technology, Inc. (“GWT”), a leading national provider of industrial water treatment, energy services, and specialty chemical solutions, today announced the acquisition of Enerstar, Inc., a technically driven water and energy services firm known for disciplined execution and strong client partnerships.

The acquisition includes Enerstar’s proprietary field enablement platform and related intellectual property, which GWT will integrate into its national operating model. Developed to support consistent technical execution, capture institutional knowledge, and enhance field-level decision-making across complex client environments, these capabilities represent a differentiated asset designed to improve technical consistency, accelerate knowledge transfer, and support scalable service delivery across GWT’s organization.

“This acquisition reflects our focus on building durable capability, not just adding size,” said Michael Byerley, Chairman & CEO of Global Water Technology. “Enerstar has developed tools and processes that improve how work is executed in the field. Integrating those capabilities into GWT allows us to elevate technical consistency, accelerate knowledge transfer, and support long-term scalability across our organization.”

As part of the transaction, Pat Carew will continue with GWT in a senior technical leadership role as Technical Director, Field Technology & Enablement. In this role, Mr. Carew will be responsible for advancing applied field technology and integrated water treatment solutions that improve system performance, service quality, operational visibility, and client outcomes across GWT’s Water & Energy Services platform. He will work closely with GWT’s technical, operational, and support teams to design, deploy, and scale practical, field-ready solutions that combine chemical feed and control strategies, mechanical and pure water systems, monitoring capabilities, and data-driven tools.

In addition, the transaction includes patented intellectual property focused on improving how water is monitored, managed, and optimized in high-intensity water-using facilities. These capabilities are intended to support more disciplined control, improved performance, and better decision-making in complex operating environments, and will be developed and governed alongside GWT’s broader field technology and enablement initiatives.

Beyond technology and intellectual property, the acquisition also creates Enerstar’s ability to service existing clients that operate facilities beyond Enerstar’s current regional footprint. Through GWT’s established national service platform, those clients may now benefit from consistent technical standards and service continuity across additional locations.

“Enerstar has always focused on building practical tools that support strong outcomes for clients,” said Mr. Carew. “Joining GWT allows that work to be scaled thoughtfully within an organization that values technical rigor, long-term relationships, and continued investment.”

Enerstar will operate as part of GWT’s Water & Energy Services organization, with key personnel remaining in place to support continuity of service, client relationships, and ongoing development of the platform. GWT plans to continue investing in the Enerstar team and its intellectual property as part of its broader capability-driven growth strategy.
